The 2014 Douglas High School Graduation is approaching quickly, and the senior class parents are asking for your help and support. The Senior Send-Off Committee would like to provide a safe, alcohol and drug free, fun and memorable senior send-off celebration. Please send your contribution to Senior Send-Off, 135 N. 9th Street in Douglas. Make checks payable to DHS Senior Send-Off. If you wish to donate a prize, call 351-7577.On behalf of the Douglas High School senior class and the senior send-off committee, thank your for your time, consideration and generosity.

 

The Marge Cares Foundation will host a Big Bucks Bingo Night on Saturday, April 26th, 6pm at the Glendo School Gymnasium. Get two cards for ten dollars, games pay cash prizes... there'll be a chili supper, live & silent auction and door prizes.The Marge Cares Foundation provides financial assistance to residents of Glendo and the surrounding areawho must travel for ongoing treatment for health issues. The Douglas Senior Center will host a dance on Friday, May 2nd from 6 to 9pm. Dance to Paul Parmely and the Timeland Band. There'll be finger food and drinks. Admission is $5 dollars.

 

The Town of Lost Springs is hosting a spring Art Show and Sale on Saturday, May 3rd from 9am to 5pm at the Lost Springs Town Hall. Refreshments will be served Call Art Stringham at 351-2220 for more information.

 

Tri-City Parks and Recreation and the Town of Guernsey are working to build a community center in Guernsey. The Spring Benefit Event will be the "Raise The Rec" Adult Co-Ed Volleyball Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, May 3rd & 4th. Announcing the 2014 Youth Summer Adventure Camp, sponsored by the University of Wyoming Extension and 4-H. This year’s camp will be June 9-11 at the Wyoming Wilderness Camp in Esterbrook. All youth ages 8-13 are invited to attend. Cost is $100.00 if you register prior to May 15, then it goes up to $120.00. All registrations are due to the Converse County Extension Office by June 2. Registration fees will be paid for in full by Operation Military kids for children from military families. Youth do not need to be in 4-H to attend. Kids over the age of 13 can apply to be camp leaders. Come join us for some fun filled summer days full of adventure with activities such as fishing, a ropes course, tracking wildlife, campfire and s’mores, camping, and much much more. The Converse County Coalition Against Violence is looking for volunteers. You can help by being a volunteer advocate, work in the office, court watch, be a shelter mentor or help with fundraising. Training is free. For more information, call the Coalition office at 358-6148.
