The first of Fort Caspar Museum's seven free summer lectures will be this Wednesday, June 18th at 6:30 pm with musical folk historian Bill Rossiter. He will present "How the West Was Sung," a "soundtrack to the great westward migration".

The free summer lecture series, "Impressions on Wyoming," will be presented on seven consecutive Wednesday evenings in June and July. No reservations are needed and all are welcome. This program is funded in part by the Fort Caspar Museum Association and the Wyoming Humanities Council.

The Converse County Flyers will host a Fly-In in Douglas this Saturday and Sunday, June 21st and 22nd. RC pilots of all skill levels are welcome, and if you're new to the hobby, they'll set you up on the trainer. The Fly-In will be at the CCF field at 815 Fetterman Street, south of the drag strip near Bartling Park. The Douglas Senior Center invites you to join them for a barbecue and dance on Saturday, June 28th from 5 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 per person. Call the Senior Center at 358-4348 for more information.

 

The Tax Refund for the Elderly and Disabled program offers refunds from $200-$800. To qualify, you must be 65 or older, or 18 years of age or older and 100% disabled. Income less than $17,500 per year if your single and $28,500 per year if married. Assets must be less than $29,950 per adult household member. Applications for this program they are available at the Douglas Senior Center. This Program runs from June 1st - August 31st.

 

The Converse County Coalition Against Violence is looking for volunteers. You can help by being a volunteer advocate, work in the office, court watch, be a shelter mentor or help with fundraising. Training is free. For more information, call the Coalition office at 358-6148.
